BlogWorld: Launching a New Trade Show in a New Space




The founders of BlogWorld & New Media Expo to help them generate attendance at the first-ever trade show devoted to blogging and emerging new media.

The show Objectives were:
o Attract exhibitors and sponsors
o Drive attendance

Strategies:
o Promote BlogWorld’s attractive list of speakers and seminar sessions, pre-show
o Emphasize the unique nature of the show, including sessions on the monetization of blogs
o Service media with pre-show interviews, information and support

Our responsibilities included staffing the press room and handling all credentialing for the press.

Results:
o Pre-show coverage at top mainstream venues included Reuters, The New York Times, About.com and ABCNews.com, as well as key technology and new media industry sites such as c/Net, ProBlogger and Podcasting News and thousands of posts at hundreds of smaller blogs
o Show coverage included major national and regional traditional outlets, such as USA Today, the Houston Chronicle and the Boston Globe
o Attendees also blogged from the show, generating thousands more hits
o Non-traditional media hits included Fox News and BlogTalkRadio, as well as a video post at You Tube.
o In the words of the In Business Blog reporter, “BlogWorld was a smashing success!”
